I have been looking forward to this session for almost a year now. It was a family Christmas gift and we just had to wait until we could get everyone in town, so that we could go ahead! The session was scheduled for Saturday, and I’ve been stalking the weather network (like normal), and feeling a bit nervous with the impending forecast, knowing that this was going to be our one shot. On Friday afternoon, with a bit of evening sun peeking out, we made a last minute (great!) decision to go for it, with just about an hour of sunlight left in the day. We had to change our location plan due to some strong winds, but in the end we found a beautiful spot with sweet golden light. The wind died down just as the sun was starting to set, and it made for a perfect setting.

I hope that you enjoyed a wonderful family long weekend!
Winding Down with Fall MinisOctober 17th, 2011Super cute kid overload last Friday! |
The beach, just a short time ago…September 26th, 2011After the storms we have had this week, it’s hard to imagine that these were just taken! We wanted to capture the west coast for Tricia and Chad’s friends and family and caught the last little bit of summer. |
The Babcock Family – Sunset SessionSeptember 15th, 2011Leah and I have been planning this session for awhile, waiting for the perfect time and opportunity! Ranae and Jacob always make me smile, and this session had me in giggles the entire time. |
Christina, Chris and AidenSeptember 9th, 2011The blog has been a little bit quieter this week due to the start of school, and prepping everything for the office opening next week. We did get a chance to sneak in a twilight session after the weekend, with fabulous soft light! |

Kevin and I were chatting the other day after I got back from Savary Island and we came to the conclusion that we could play “3 Degree of Separation from Lindsay Carlos” with over 90% of my clientele. Lindsay, Chris and Lily were my first official clients and have been a huge support throughout the years. Their favourite place is Savary Island, and it seemed only natural to photograph them there while their were vacationing with their good friends.

They could use a little cheering up today, as they arrived back home to find their car was stolen from their house – please comment freely!
The Sandy Shores of SavaryAugust 11th, 2011I’m feeling a little bit spoiled with all of the traveling I’ve been able to do this summer working. Savary Island has been one of my favourite places and I was very happy when Sandra got in touch with me about doing a session while they were on their summer holidays! For everyone who has [...] |

I’m feeling a little bit spoiled with all of the traveling I’ve been able to do this summer working. Savary Island has been one of my favourite places and I was very happy when Sandra got in touch with me about doing a session while they were on their summer holidays! For everyone who has had the chance to visit Savary, it’s like a little piece of paradise. I often think of it as a 1960′s Martha’s Vineyard setting.
Thanks for the lovely session, and for the boat ride back to the Mainland!

Jena, Roger and Bonnie GraceAugust 9th, 2011I’ll have to admit that I’m a little bit of a “googler”. (Considering the professions of both Jena and Roger, I may get a little bit of flack for my use of the word in question!) I like to see sometimes if I can search and gain insight in to new clients (in a completely [...] |

I’ll have to admit that I’m a little bit of a “googler”. (Considering the professions of both Jena and Roger, I may get a little bit of flack for my use of the word in question!) I like to see sometimes if I can search and gain insight in to new clients (in a completely non stalker way), so I can get an idea of locations to suggest, or a style to photograph. Jena and I know each other through the Powell River La Leche League, but I was intrigued about her arrival to Powell River from Ohio, and Roger and I had never met. I found this amazing story from Powell River Living about how Roger and Jena met that I just had to link to my post, because it explains their story better than I could! BookCrossed Lovers
Along with beautiful Bonnie Grace, they joined me for some evening sun at some beautiful locations around our neighbourhood.
